NWDC Events Calendar 2016-17
As always at our events we need helpers to make the events run smoothly, so if you have half an hour or an hour to spare we would love your assistance. From timing an obstacle to adding up figures, to opening a ring or gate to let competitors in and out of the arena or field, every little helps. Contact the event organiser to let them know if you can lend a hand.
ALL DOGS MUST BE ON A LEAD AND UNDER SUPERVISION AT ALL TIMES, otherwise we may ask you to leave. If you have to leave your dog/s without supervision you must shut them into your wagon or caravan (not your car, which may become fatally hot in summer).
2016 Events
Newton Rigg, indoor arena challenges 21st Feb, 17th April, 1st May, will be run in conjunction with Dumfries and Galloway. Entry £20.00, either sent to Dougy 07787751569 or Brenda Hodgson 0190061520.
AGM 13th March, 3.00pm at Edenhall Hotel.
Dalemain ODE, 15th May Dressage, Cones and Marathon, £25.00 members, £35.00 non members, entries to Dougy.
Summer show 31st July, Dalemain, selection of classes to suit everyone, £5.00 per class, entries to Dougy. Schedule
3 and 4 September - Joint Event with Dumfries & Galloway at Englishtown.
11 September - Alan Todd's Drive.
Saturday 8th October
NWDC's 50th Anniversary Dinner with Auction of Promises and Dance
Location - The George Hotel, Penrith. Time - 6.30 pm meet for 7 pm eat. (Aiming for 8 pm Auction start.)
All profits from the evening will be split equally between Sports Driving Unlimited (Charity number SC038870) and Cancer Research UK (Charity number 1089464)

Tickets are £35 each, tables seat ten. Book and pay for 10 tickets and receive a bottle of Champers! Smart evening dress, please, black-tie if you like.
Booking forms will be going out to current NWDC members shortly and there is a strict limit on numbers so first come first served. Don't miss out on this fabulous chance to celebrate 50 years of the North West Driving Club and to raise money for two wonderful charities.

NWDC Subscriptions
Don’t forget Membership subscriptions are due 1st January each year. The Subs form is available here, and you can now pay by Standing Order. All members need to fill in and send the Subscription form so that our records are kept up to date, so please don't send your payment with no details. Forms should go to Alison Bell, The Lodge, Gamblesby, Penrith, Cumbria, CA10 1HR.
Safety assessment is a BC requirement for all our new driving members. A basic safety test is all that is required. NOTE - To avoid possible disappointment, we are going to try to avoid safety-testing at events or drives. Please contact the Secretary to arrange a test beforehand. We would very much like to hear from anyone who is willing to hold a drive or small fun gathering.
If there is a type of event you would like to see run please let us know and we can put it into the schedule -- if you don’t tell us what you want, we can’t do it!
Please make sure you let organisers know if you’re planning to attend a drive or event.
Insurance
Please ensure you have a copy of your insurance (minimum 3rd party) with you at all events as checks will be made throughout the season. You may not join a drive or compete at an event with us without such insurance.
Drives and active events are for paid-up members only unless otherwise indicated.
Make sure your insurance covers the animal you will be driving.
The North West Driving Club would like to thank all our event hosts for allowing us to use their land for our events throughout the year. We also thank all our helpers who make it possible to run the events for us all to enjoy.
